Lightweight and economical
The 4th generation Suzuki Swift is equipped with a 3-cylinder engine combined with a lightweight SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) 12V hybrid system for an even better environmental performance. At just 4 to 5 litres/100km, it is extremely fuel-efficient.
HYBRID
The SHVS hybrid system converts the kinetic energy generated during deceleration into electricity and stores it in the lithium-ion battery, while the ISG (Integrated Starter Generator with 60 Nm) assists the engine during acceleration. The SHVS system also automatically switches off the engine when the vehicle is at a standstill, or when braking is completed (at speeds of less than 15 km/h), and then gently restarts the engine.
